Currently Listening To: My phone text message alert Currently Thinking About: Getting old Currently I'd Rather Be: 10 pounds thinner So I went on my first real business travel this week. I've gone for day trips to PA before and a trip to Richmond but today was the first time I've actually had to get a hotel room for a business trip. No plane required but the trip was something I could check on my list of made up things that make me feel important at work. I was down in Virginia Beach for the week. The atmosphere was very chill there. I had a lot of views from the marina at sunset and the actual city was probably one of the cleanest I've visited next to Charlotte. I even got to eat in a former church. Pretty cool inside if you ask me. They had good food and even had a dish that involved lobster stuffed pork. Didn't have the curiosity to order it myself but the guy who did had a very interesting looking dish. The business portion of the week was good too. I seemed to make some good impressions on the folks I met with and got some good feedback from those at work who heard the recap of the week. So question of the post: Where to next? posted by The Blogger @ 11:18 PM 0 comments |

Currently Listening To: Josh Verdes - Save Me Currently Thinking About: What I'm doing at work Currently I'd Rather Be: Rich So I've been waiting to get a corporate cell phone for a few weeks now and I got word last Friday that a phone is now available to me. I just need to get it. I'm really getting pissed at my current phone too so it couldn't have come at a better time. I mean I love my phone but having Windows Mobile on it leads to problems of... well Windows (Boot, Reboot, Boot out the Window). Although I really hate my phone, I still love it. It does many nice things for me when it's playing sweet. However, I did find a group of people that genuinely DO hate their cell phones. Man, I bet my phone would go far. It's like a small brick. Perfect for shot putts, riots, or crime deterrence. So question of the post: What's your number again? posted by The Blogger @ 10:19 PM 0 comments |

Currently Listening To: Welcome Back by Mase Currently Thinking About: How much money I'm saving Currently I'd Rather Be: In possession of the TMNT Trilogy For some reason I'm really starting to get some serious road rage on the way to work. They just introduced some Civil Penalties in Virginia where residents of said state are issues extra fines for traffic violations. For example, 20 over the speed limit will get you a whopping $1,050 fine in addition to the normal fines. Yeah, I know what you're going to say. "Well, Cruzz, that IS excessive..." Yeah it is, but Route 66 is a four lane highway with a 55MPH speed limit. No one goes 65 let alone 55... well that is until this crazy law was put into place. Now there is like a wall of people driving 60 miles an hour when I'm trying to do 80 going to work! Yeah yeah, again, "Well, Cruzz, 80 IS speeding..." "So the hell what", I say. Let me worry about that. You worry about the fact that you can't follow one of the simple, easier to understand laws of the road: "Keep right. Pass left." If you are not passing the guy to your right.. then you, Sir (or Miss), should be on the right! Seems like an easy rule to me. That's actually enforced in Jersey (I've been pulled over for it once.) and you don't see any slow drivers in the left lane there. They know how to get places like it's not a Sunday. Virginia... ha! All this crap just because they need more money for their Transportation Department. So you're telling me they tax your car on an annual basis and control the only toll booths withing 20 miles of DC and they STILL have problems with their Transporation Budget? OK. OK. [Gets off his soap box] you may continue with your surfing the Internetz.... So question of the post: Do I really want to move to VA? posted by The Blogger @ 11:08 PM 0 comments |
